Any and all offerings are intended as complimentary to any official products of any AML certification body. They are meant to augment one’s basic professional training in Anti-Money Laundering efforts. While my focus is on the front line investigators, others in, or aspiring to, the field will find these aids beneficial.
PRACTICE TEST for Global AML Certification Exams, by Paul R Freeman
Unless you have taken a professional licensing exam before, there is little chance that you can adequately prepare for what you will face on your own. The simple restatement of facts learned from lectures and textbooks will do you little good. Such an exam seeks to have you prove your ability to apply the principles you have learned – to show professional judgment. Hence, I wrote this practice test to give you an idea of what you will face BEFORE you sit for the real thing.
In addition, there is a physiological impact on the body in taking such an extended test. I felt it was important to try to simulate the ENTIRE experience. Therefore, please, try to set aside 3-1/2 hours and do it in one sitting. Do not piecemeal your way through it. I have met people who have known their materials well for other licensing exams, but because they did not understand the toll on their minds and bodies, they failed. They did not perceive the importance of time management, pacing, mental breaks, etc.
This practice test is not endorsed or approved by any certification body. It is a personal product – I wrote all of the questions. I am solely responsible for the content. It is designed for AML education on a global level.
With all of my prior students, I repeatedly impress on them the following: I have geared this test toward showing you potential weaknesses in your knowledge base. I want you to feel the stress of a professional exam. I have NOT designed it to make you feel good about yourself. It is NOT set up to bolster your confidence. If anything, it will “kick your teeth in” and give you pause. But no score, however low, should make you turn away from your pursuit.
Take heart; use your errors to firm up your knowledge. I have had students who had abysmal scores – who were ready to give up. But they used this as a wake-up call. They went back and re-studied the areas they missed – and then went on to PASS the real examinations.
So, use it as intended and it should make passing the actual exam more certain. BEST WISHES.
